Completing your course: How long will it take?
Our course is organized into easy-to-digest lessons. Each lesson takes approximately one hour to complete. Students work at different speeds, so you can go at your own pace in our courses.
If you are mandated to take weekly classes, please note that One Hour equals One Week. (This information appears on all certificates.)

Advances in brain-imaging technology have ushered in a new cultural awareness of how our brains affect our lives and relationships. We believe, in accordance with evidence-based research, that a basic understanding of the neurological underpinnings of our emotional landscape help students build self-resilience. All of our courses begin with a scientific exploration of the subject we are addressing, and we translate that knowledge base into strategies for modifying problematic behaviors. We see our newfound knowledge of how our brains and nervous systems function as an extremely optimistic development in helping students shape healthy patterns and behaviors, and we communicate this optimism throughout our coursework.
Open Path operates from a belief that paying attention to our minds, our bodies, and our experiences is one of the first foundations to creating resiliency from within. A deeper, clearer, conscious understanding of our thought patterns and behaviors allow us to develop healthier ways of being in the world. We create courses that consistently ask students to slow down, pay attention, and become curious about their experience and how it affects their lives. What is it to live in the present and what is the point? In a non-dogmatic, invitational way, we ask students to actively explore these questions.
We ask our students to own the material in our courses by taking written and physical exercises designed to provoke awareness of unhealthy patterns and offer ways to reset, reshape, and revitalize. Through journaling exercises, evidence-based, brain-based learning techniques, and instructional online videos, students are introduced to a world that may have remained in sight, but just out of reach until now. We are acutely aware that resilience-based learning improves academic performance and Open Path makes it our primary goal to help students achieve a strong level of emotional well-being.
